Black Power Reconsidered:Art, Community, and Activism in the Age of “Black Panther”Friday, May 18, 2018 9 a.m.–3 p.m. E-Building, Little Theater
The Black Lives Matter Summit invites anyone who believes in the power of activism, creativity and intellect to overcome injustice. A call to action by LaGuardia students, faculty and staff, the summit will highlight and discuss issues of inequity faced by people of color in contemporary society. The summit will address perceptions, examine possibilities and promote progress through definitive actions that support the new generation of leaders engaged in the battle for social justice. Together, we can set the stage to counteract inequity and injustice.
Join us on May 18 to discuss themes of art, community and activism centered around the movie “Black Panther.” Come early! The first 75 attendees will receive a Black Panther comic book.
