The mission of Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD) is to develop globally conscious graduates/employees who possess the technological, problem-solving and project/career management skills needed to succeed in a multi-generational workforce. The CCPD staff offer interactive, student centered workshops to on- campus groups, including academic classes and student organizations, on a variety of topics.
“Don’t Cancel That Class” is offered to faculty who know, in advance, that they cannot attend a specific class session. In lieu of students missing a session, a career advisor or an employment specialist will lead a discussion on a specific topic during the regularly scheduled class. The goal of each is to foster lifelong skills that can be utilized both in the classroom setting and in the workplace. Visit http://goo.gl/forms/1E45IMUl11 and submit the request form at least 3 weeks in advance. A CCPD staff member will contact you to discuss your program.
The following are topics offered for “Don’t Cancel That Class”:
Career Talk: Uncover occupations that match your interests to move forward with your career decision making process. Professional Pitch: Learn to market yourself to employers in 30 to 60 seconds Ace That Interview I: Discuss the do’s and don’ts for a successful interviewIntroduction to CCPD services and web-based tools: (Career Coach, eCareer Plan, Vault and more!)
